Did I say that I hoped the worst was behind us? Boy did I jinx us on that one. December marked the second month where the four of us getting sick in turns. Even grandma got a wind of it. At the moment, the adults are recovered. Renee seems to be fine now. Max got another doctor's visit the other day, and got five shots (FIVE!!!) again. His reaction was pretty quick, as he went into high fever (104) in the evening, and Tylenol could only bring it down to 102 or so. After one and half worrying day, his fever finally came down. As usual, the sister enjoyed herself the whole time going to places with daddy (see blow), and the little brother is not content with sitting by himself anymore.
It seems that every time the baby gets sick, he or she grows a bit upon recovery. Max is now even more responsive and can almost sit on his own.
Renee had a 'Christmas concert' at school, aka the event where all parents come to school to take videos or pictures of their kids no matter what they do, like this one I took.
Actually, that is not entirely true. We did have a music class, where the kids stand in circle to sing and dance. Renee is still not very involved in it, so I didn't have anything good (not that this one is any better).
Renee likes her school very much now. She has no problem going to school, and she starts speaking a lot more English words. The teacher told us that Renee speaks English to them at school, even though we have only heard her popping the words.
Renee can tell most of the colors in both Chinese and English. Her school has Spanish class once every week, so she can also count from one to ten in Spanish now, something that neither the parents can do. I had to call my sister to make sure that she was really saying them.
Max is still being Max, being happy and settled all the time unless he is either hungry or sleepy. He can sit on his own as long as there is something to hold on to. The only problem with that is eventually he will notice what is in his hand and try to lean forward to take a bite. Then he will lose his balance and fall, face down most of the time.
For the playdate of the chevron kids on December, we went to pump-it-up. Everyone had a good time. Even I went into the box ring and the basketball court to have some crazy fun.
Duzi and Leilei came to visit Max and Renee. They both received warm welcome from the kids.
In this picture Max is actually whining when everyone else are laughing, very unusual.
I posted this on my Facebook already. As I mentioned before, Renee treats her brother a lot more friendly now. To be fair, Renee is not that difficult when it comes to her little brother. We just need to keep reminding her all the toy that her brother brought her.
Renee has been looking at Snow White dress for a while. The mom finally gave in and bought her one. She refers herself to "the pretty princesses Snow White" sometimes.
Another picture of the kids under the Christmas tree at Pier 39 in San Francisco.
Max can hold on to the bottle and feed himself now. We had a pretty good day at the Fisherman's Wharf. The only disappointing thing was that Renee didn't get to see the sea lions because of their mysterious disappearance.
Renee is posing in front of the Christmas tree in her new dress.
Renee got a scooter for the Christmas. We went out for play once and her learned to wiggle the handle so that it moves forward. She still has not mastered the skill to push herself off.
Sitting with Max again. The Giraffe that Max is holding is one of his two favorite toys to chew on.
I took Renee to Gilroy garden to play and see the light show. Snoopy is THE celebrity in the park. It is extremely hard to take a picture with Snoopy unless you pay for it. Renee and I chase after Snoopy after the show and she got to hug him at the leg.
I also took Renee to play with her life-long (so far) friend, Ethan. The two can play very well together.
They were also 'playing' piano together. I got a video too.
This is the testimony that one has to work hard for the title of 'daddy'.
