Where is Daddy

As promised, this is the update for Renee's status on learning to walk.

She can pretty much play with any object now. And I do mean, any object. Sooner or later, she will put it into her mouth. We normally will tell her "No" to certain objects. Her reaction to "No" was putting it close to her mouth, watching your reaction with her mouth open. I think she is bored with that game now, because "No" normally leads to her crying now. It is actually amusing to watch. She can be very happy, laughing and giggling. Then she will try to do something and we will say "No". Then all laughter stops right away and cry follows immediately.

She is also being more communicative. We are getting her started on Chinese hoping to keep her heritage.

On the Way to Walking

As I am reviewing the pictures we have taken for the past months and thinking of the theme of Renee's growth for this blog, I realized that the pictures don't tell the story at all! Nevertheless, I should publish the post on time in case some of you bugs me again (you know who you are!). I'll do an update within this week. Promise.

We took Renee on the second hiking trip after the Mount. Diablo. The wind was pretty strong so I am not sure how much she enjoyed it. Out of all the pictures that we have taken, these two are the ones without frowning faces.


Her ability to crawl has greatly improved, to such an extent that we are not worrying about her falling on her head anymore. Sometimes we should take her downstairs and let her crawl on the first floor freely. She really enjoys crawling on different surfaces. As a matter of fact, her crawling position changes depending on the surface. It is pretty funny to watch her through the area mixed with Rugs and stones.


We have not dared to take her out for a long trip. We took her out several times to the restaurants to test the water. It went pretty well so far. This is the first time we put her in the child chair.






Of course, Gymboree remains one of our favorite scheduled activities. Her reaction to bubbles has changed from I-have-no-idea-what-you-guys-are-doing to "hey, they disappear whenever I touch them!"









One more thing worth noting is that we start collecting vegetables from our garden in the backyard and trying to make real "organic" food for her

Crawling, Up Stairs!

Ok, the moment you all have been waiting for, another update! I'll try not to let this happen anymore. One of the measure I am taking is to do the update at the turn of the month so that I don't forget (and easier to organize the photo album)














First of all, I would like to report that Renee is doing well. Her mom took her to the studio again and took another round of shots. She warmed up to the camera just before the photographer finished her work. These two are the ones that I love and are standing on my desk at work now.

She started sleeping on her belly now. If you ever dare to turn her over, she will cry her eyes out until you let her be. The funny thing is that if we let her sleep with us in our bed, she will sleep facing up or on the side.
















She also learned the spirit of "Cheers!". Whenever I point the camera at her, she will stare at it for a short moment before resort to a smile, sometimes big, sometimes small. It is funny every time she does it.

We try to let her social with other babies as much as possible. Going to Gymboree classes, strolling around the parks, and attending birthday parties are the few things on her busy calendar. Her mom also found her a play mate, we will let you know how her date feels about her and if she wants to continue. :-)





Renee is playing after her class at Gymboree. We have signed up already so she will have a big playground three times a week.








We bought her two pairs of sun glasses. She was giggling the whole way the first time we put them on. Then she tries to take them off.






Renee can climb the stairs! Of course, falls are anticipated, but she is fearless in this area, unlike her attitudes towards stuffed animal.
