Biking!

The most exciting events of the months are that Renee and Max both learned biking! It took us a while to get them over the fear. Once they started riding around, you wonder why they couldn't do it sooner.

Here are the rest of the highlights from July
Ashley and Sophia came to visit. We went to Boomers to drive around the track and played some mini golf.
Renee and Ashely found this big rock to take a picture.
Soon everyone want a piece of action.
With the summer finally getting here, Renee and Max are enjoying visits to these parks with water.
I am out of the school now but sometimes we still wear these T-shirts together for a upenn family picture.
We went to hiking during one weekend and had lunch around San Mateo. After the lunch, we came to visit the park nearby and rode the train.
Renee and Max also went to their first ball game!

Summer is here

Summer is here and the weather is nice. We are taking the opportunity to get outdoor as much as possible.
Renee and Max enjoy going to visit different places. This is a BBQ at a the house of a family friend.
We went on a camping trip and played around at the park. Renee is probably the most adventurous. Max would be scared at the beginning but always followed his sister.
I bought some light pens for the kids to play in the dark. Renee's was faulty and broke quickly. As a remedy, she gets to hold the lamp.
Before we took down the tents, the kids took a picture together.
We took a walk around the park along the creek.
Renee had a piano recital. She is making pretty good progress with her piano lesson now.
On Renee's birthday eve, we decorated her room with Tinker Bell and princesses after she fell asleep. She was very happy the next day morning.
Max is "getting out of his shell" as his teacher would call him. We are moving him to Little Bridges, the place where his sister used to go to. There was a spot open up, and we felt that something is bothering Max at his current school. As I am writing this blog, Max has started at the new place and he is indeed happier when getting home.
One Saturday morning we went on a biking tour at a local trail called Iron Horse Trail. I spotted several geocaches along the way and got Renee to go hunting with me.
Here is another Geocache location.
We went to Disney Land at the end of the month. Renee and Max are big enough to appreciate the trip now.
Renee has quite got used to these characters and enjoy taking the pictures. Max still refuses to take picture with them sometimes.
As I was running around getting fast pass and checking out the lines, the rest of the family are enjoying visiting different attractions.

This is a month of lots of activities, mostly because I have finally finished the two-year school, and had a week off between jobs. I felt it was fitting to have more than usual number of pictures to offset my slacking off in the past.

As I was writing this blog, Renee was also around. So I asked her to help out for some of the sections.

I went to Renee's painting class for the first time. It is a great place for creativity and I can see that Renee has been having a lot of fun here.
I did say that I graduated right? Here is Max at the graduation day visiting the school.
Of course, I got to take the kids on Geocaching trip. Here is Renee discovering the well-designed geocache with my help.
I discovered this one with both kids together. They were very happy with the little detour, after the discovery of course.
We took a trip to our favorite Central Park. This time, we entered from the west side and walked around.
(Written by Renee) Renee and Max were playing in the water at Central Park. They had great fun in the water. Max got wet on his pants and I got wet on my dress.
Max always enjoys these kind of things more than her sister. However, he needs to follow Renee's lead to get it started.
(Written by Renee) Max was on the sidewalk feeding the ducks. He scared some ducks away on the sidewalk. He was throwing the duck food very close to the sidewalk.
(Written by Renee) On mother's day, Lilly and I were at a festival (or whatever that was called). We heard singers singing and lots of moms came. We used a umbrella as a tent and we brought lots of food. And we brought some water. There were trucks and the timber. And we got to ride on them. It was fun riding them.
I pulled out my phone and located a geocache nearby. I was able to convince Max to go with me. We arrived the big tree where the cache was hidden, and was lucky enough to find this one.
One day during my break between jobs, I took Renee with me right after her school at the Kindergarten. Instead of going to Chinese school, she hung out with me for lunch and, of coures, geocaching. She found this one all by herself.
I was able to attend Renee's school concern.
After the concert, it was the spring Fling event. Renee and Max decided to get some "Crazy Hair". Here is them sitting at the chair covering their faces.
Crazy hair! Renee had red hair and Max had blue hair. We had as much fun washing them off later than evening.
Renee and Max are now big enough to find them fun instead of scary.
They also played at this area for a long time climbing all the structures.
Max really likes airplane these days. He enjoyed this ride the most and quickly mastered the trick to pull the airplane up.
I joined my classmates in a BBQ event at the weekend. Renee and I was very excited to discover this huge slide and playground. It was like hitting a jackpot for her.
After some hesitation and investigation, Renee took the slide and enjoyed it until we leave. She fell in the end but was more surprised than hurt.
While Renee and I were at the Peninsula attending the BBQ and playing at the slide, Max went with mom to the Wind and Kite Festival at San Ramon. He got to sit in the chopper!
Max also made a kite and flew it in the park.
