Scouting with Masks

We are doing more scouting with mask.  With the case number drop and the county moving to orange tier, both troops (126 and 805) are scheduling more activities. With our second shot scheduled on April 23rd, we are really hoping that we can go back to camping again.

This is the first backpacking training trip. Due to the COVID, we have decided to do day trip only at the beginning.

This is Renee with her crew on another Philmont backpacking training. We are lucky to have two adults who are really experienced and capable of leading this event.

The family is having a sort of routine to walk together after dinner. Renee and Max choose the path for the group each time.

Hang in there

We are still waiting for the community to get vaccinated and things to open up.

I took Max to an outing with his Troop 805. They got to climb around in these tall trees.

Max also went on another event to learn about orienteering and pioneering.

Once in a while, we would go out for a walk as the family.

Renee's troop needed a sawbuck. She and Sara in the troop worked with Sara's dad to make it in a Sunday afternoon.

While recovering from an injured knee, Max was able to perform an aerial!

Even though we are in purple tier with more restrictions, with the availability of vaccine and more knowledge of the virus, we feel a bit safer actually about outdoor activities. We still don't gather in large crowds but super small outdoor only gathering is something we can plan.

We went with another family to a park nearby and hiked for a few hours.

This is another weekend when we meet up with two other families who we have been going to ski with every year. The kids had a great time seeing each other and catching up.

Whenever we get a family time, we would also hike around the neighborhood.
