Snowboarding and Dance

February was another month with lots of actions but fewer pictures because they are out there on their own!

 

This is actually from January. Max also went out for a second trip where they really camped in the snow. I am still waiting for the pictures to be uploaded.

Here is Renee with her dance team. Dancing has been a good stress release activity as Renee is getting ready for the college application.

Max wanted to learne snowaboarding. So we went to Boreal on an overnight trip. When they were younger, we used to do this very often. Here is one blog post from 11 years ago!

Snow and Song Team

We didn't take a lot of pictures this month, even though there have been many activities. Renee's troop had a five-year celebration. Max attended a Kungfu night demonstration with his Kungfu school.

Renee continues her practices and performances with the high school song team.

I went with Max on his Winter Awareness event in preparation for the snow camping. This is the same place where we came to stay overnight when he was with the Cubscouts Pack 996.

This is the first introduction to snow camping. They practiced building a structure but didn't need to stay outside.

Busy December, even Consider Japan Trip

We got LOTS of pictures for December, mostly from our Christmas trip to Japan, where we stayed at Tokyo, Hakodate, and Sapporo.

Renee goes to San Francisco often these days to visit her boyfriend. In one of the weekend, after dropping her off, the rest of the family decided to hang out at San Francisco. Max got to row the boat.

Max and I also visited the Exploratorium, where we used to visited quite often.

As the Christmas gift to Max (and me too!), we bought OneWheel, an electric self-balancing skateboard.

Renee and her boyfriend took turn to try it out.

The favorite part of visiting Japana for Renee and Max was the food. We enjoyed Ramen, BBQ, Curry Soup, and Sushi for two weeks.

We also visited this outdoor museum, which has cool art structures.

There were tons of structures to take funny pictures.

We visited a shrine for fun. You have to pay to get on that bridge.

Max' strength shows in climbing the stairs to reach here. We were all very tired and he was running up.

We took lots of pictures of the food we ordered. I call them "food sanitization using camera".

We also took two day trips to two ski resorts in Japan. The first one was really far away, with two hours of train ride. But it was really good. The second one was only a bus ride away but it was really small and only one lift was open. But we enjoyed both trips.

We walked a lot on the trip. This is an evening walk in Sapporo, with the TV Tower in the background.
