January is the typical ski season for the kids. They are getting better at it as I am getting better at arranging the trip.

I cannot wait for Renee to start learning snowboarding. At the same time, I am enjoying her current speed with ski. We can go down the slope almost together now. I pretty much didn't have to wait too often where she is still learning to hold off the break until the very end.

Max was not having much fun this day. He fell a couple of times and started whining.

Renee is getting stronger at climbing. She was able to climb all the way through without any help. I can tell that she is very proud of this achievement.

Max follows Renee around and can climb as high as Renee does.

I took them out for Geocaching. This time we took the hint and discovered the cache together.

After some hesitation, Renee and Max learned to enjoy the thrill of going down a steep slope. They would push the bike up to the top together...

And take turn to ride down!

Max really like this kind of construction and building related toys. I especially like this one because the instruction is simplified, unlike the detailed ones with Lego. This forces Max to look at the picture and try to figure out what the result should be. He is pretty good at it too!

I took Max for a walk one day. He saw this construction that he used to play around with the sister. This time, however, he insisted to stand all the way on the top.

I took Max by himself for another trip. This was as happy as he got that day. When I picked him up, he was not in a good mood. Later that night, he developed a fever. So he probably got a cold while on the slope. I felt bad for a while because during the day I thought he was whining again. He recovered pretty fast from the fever though, though.
