After two years of bad snow season, we finally got what we hoped for right around the time taking the Christmas break.

I took Max to a PWD (Pine Wood Dirby) car workshop. I resisted the temptation to play with the tools myself. Instead, I let Max to do it as much as he can.
Another homework we finally finished for the scouts is to plant something.

Encouraged by Max' interest in helping out, I got him to work on my bike when I was replacing the tire.

I volunteered and went with Renee on her filed trip the museum. We learned about the history of native Americans as well as the settlers. We also enjoyed the model trains.

We arrived the vacation house we rented in the afternoon. The kids immediately went to the backyard where the snow are still fresh.

Renee got the snow ball maker and start building.

The snow started coming down at midnight and continued for the whole day.

The snow in the backyard got deeper and deeper. It came to a point that I start restricting the area where they can play for safety reason.

The day after, we went to the ski resort. Renee went with me up the mountain. We took a wrong turn and came down this slope. The snow was so deep such that our ski and snowboard kept getting stuck. The next day I checked out the map and realized this is a black diamond slope.

I found a huge icicle for Renee to play with.

On the second day at the resort, Max learned enough of ski and asked if he could take the lift up the mountain. We went up and had a couple of good runs.

After two days of ski, we decided to take a break and went to the snow park. Renee, Max and I went on the tubing ride.

Renee and Max also went on the snowmobile. Renee appeared to be a bit scared. Max didn't get the control until the end.
