June 2007 - Day 3 - Home Coming and Feeding

In the morning, we wrapped up everything as soon as we could. Birth certification verification, one last check-up, discharge list, one after another. We had to order lunch before we could leave.

Finally, we dressed up Renee, and got home at around 3 pm, with Renee's grandparents waiting at the door. We quickly put Renee to her own very first bed. It was such a different feeling to see her at home in her own bed. Somehow, this scene has a very good calming effect to the worrying parents.

Renee still does not get enough milk from the mom at the time. We still didn't know if it was because she was weak or because the mom was not producing enough. Fortunately, her folks assured us that everything would be fine as long as she took enough rest and they would make sure that she take enough fluid (water, soup, etc.). And they were 100% right, as you will see in the upcoming posts.
One thing we know though, is that Renee gets more content with the additional supplements. We think this would be how we can tell when to get her off them, once she has the same expression after just drinking breast milk. We say that she gets "high" on supplements.

One good side-effect came with supplement feeding is that the new dad got to share some feeding experience, however limited it is.
