Day 7 - Looking for a permanent pediatrician

We didn't do a good job here to locate a pediatrician. The reason was partially because we have a plan to move to San Ramon so any doctor that we choose would not be the final one. However, it was still a mistake not choosing one close by around the area.

I got reference from Adam, who recommended his daughters. He also directed me to check out the website http://parents.berkeley.edu. We found his pediatrician, called them and set up the appointment. We also missed the Monday parent visit so we just set up the appointment directly.

Renee's bowl movement is really active lately. The best record was that we checked her diaper before the feeding and found a small amount of stool. We changed it. During the feeding, she had another one, we changed it again. After the feeding, when we were applying the cream for the diaper rash, she started urinating and made a big scene. As we were busy getting the stuff to clean up the mess, she was just lying there stretching her arms, feeling very comfortable.

Renee is very quiet, which makes it very hard to see if she needs to check diaper. Half the time, she just gently complains a bit, then fall back to sleep. We are still trying to figure out the signs. One thing for sure, it won't be crying or screaming.

At the same time, she is very active with her bowel movement. Here is the feeding diary for day 7. As you can see, she was fed only three times so far, yet she had 4 wet diapers and 4 stools. Sometimes you wonder if she is just like birds, where food just go through the digest system and come right out!
